For the past several years, Professional Home Buyers has made a point to give back to our community at every opportunity we can. One of the ways we do this is through our annual Thanksgiving Giveaway! Every year, we reach out to community leaders, non-profit coordinators, pastors, government outreach programs, school counselors, and the general public, and find deserving families that could really use a prepared Thanksgiving meal.
Last year, after receiving so many entries and hearing so many stories of families that could use our help, we knew that five Thanksgiving dinners wasn’t going to be enough. Luckily, our company President, Leon Goner has an extensive network of generous business professionals and friends, and we were able to donate prepared dinners to all 23 candidates.
Thanks to the help of local Wichita businesses, we were able to provide a meal for a single mother with Polio, and two disabled childen. A mother having a double mastectomy no longer had to worry about how she was going to cook dinner for her husband and 5 children. Families dealing with a recent death or celebrating a final Thanksgiving with a family member were all extremely grateful. Numerous families had no plans for Thanksgiving at all, knowing “food stamps will only stretch so far”, and couldn’t have felt more blessed despite their circumstances.
However, no one felt more rewarded than us. After all, that’s what this season is about, right? Saying thank you for what you have, and giving when you can? So this year, we have done a bit more preparation and with the help of other local businesses, have a total of 32 family-sized dinners ready to be donated on Thanksgiving, and we can’t wait to start giving!

We will be accepting entries until Wednesday, November 9th, and will be contacting families Friday November 11th, so please let me know as soon as possible.
